Ministry of Foreign Affairs Statement - Gaza Strip 06-02-2025

Amid the launch of negotiations for the second phase aimed at consolidating the ceasefire in Gaza in particular and continuing to address the aftermath of the imposed war on it in general, Algeria expresses its hope that the efforts of the mediation group will continue with broad international support to ensure the consolidation of this agreement and follow up its implementation in all its dimensions and aspects.
In this context, Algeria reiterates its firm rejection of the plans being circulated to displace and empty Gaza of its original inhabitants, as part of a broader scheme targeting the core of the Palestinian national project.
Algeria also reaffirms its deep conviction that achieving sustainable peace in the Middle East remains intrinsically linked to the realization of the Palestinian people's rights and enabling them to establish their independent and sovereign state according to the internationally agreed-upon "two-states solution" as a just, permanent, and final solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict.
From this perspective, Algeria stresses the necessity of unifying Palestinian territories from Gaza to the West Bank and occupied Al-Quds with the aim of realizing the Palestinian national project, emphasizing that any attempts to erase, fragment, or liquidate this project will only lead to prolonging the conflict, deepening the suffering of the Palestinian people, and worsening insecurity and instability in the entire region.
