On Thursday, August 8, 2024, the Minister of Culture and Arts, Dr. Soraya Mouloudji, accompanied by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Li Jian, and the Wali Delegate of Baraki, supervised the official inauguration ceremony of the institution responsible for implementing the "Palace of Culture and Entertainment" project in Baraki, Algiers. This comes within the framework of strengthening the mutual friendship relations between the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria and the People's Republic of China, as the project area is estimated at about 10 hectares.
The "Palace of Culture and Entertainment" is a complex that will contain vital facilities such as a large reading room, workshops, multimedia halls, a multi-functional cinema hall, a large hall with a capacity of 450 seats, and three exhibition halls, in addition to other buildings that will be built on the borders of the land adjacent to the project, such as a youth center, administrative offices, a kindergarten, technical rooms, handball and small football fields, and a square dedicated to outdoor activities.
The Ministry of Culture and the Chinese partner agreed to use modern technology in construction and techniques that would enhance energy saving and facilitate access for people with special needs.
